Accomodations

***Important note: if you wish to book using our discount code for the Club Quarters Hotel, the deadline is August 17th. See below for details and code***

San Francisco has hotels that range from budget(ish) to luxury, so depending on what you want for your visit there is something for you.

For the budget end of things, we've made a group booking at a hotel called "Club Quarters San Francisco." This is an executive hotel used by business people during the week. The rooms are simple, it doesn't have a ton of facilities, but if you are just looking for a comfortable place to sleep that is near all of the main tourist attractions, the this could be a good option for you. We have negotiated a rate for this hotel of $76 a night (plus $15 for extra people)
To book, you should call 212-575-0006 and reference the group code HEP101.

If they ask, you are with "Hewlett-Packard." This is the corporate rate that they get, and even though the hotel knows this is for a wedding and not corporate related at all, they asked that you say you are with HP. Very strange, I know.

For all other hotels, we found that you can get better prices from booking web sites or from the hotel websites themselves than we could get by arranging a group booking.

Good booking sites include: www.hotels.com, www.orbitz.com, and www.priceline.com. We'd also recommend you use www.tripadvisor.com to check out customer reviews of the various hotel. Tripadvisor also has the ability to check availability and prices and link you to sites that can help you book.

Some of our favorite hotels in San Francisco include:

The Chancellor Hotel: A well priced hotel right on Union Square. The rooms are not enormous, but they are definitely sufficient and it has nice touches like free cookies in the lobby, a small bar and a restaurant for breakfast (although there are lots of diners within walking distance). http://www.chancellorhotel.com/

Westin St Francis: Overlooking Union Square, this is one of the most famous hotels in San Francisco. It has all you'd expect from a more luxury hotel but if you keep your eye on some of the budget hotel sites, you can get a great deal on rooms (we've known people get rooms for as little as $99 per night). http://www.westinstfrancis.com/

W hotel: If you're looking for something a little cooler and with more of a scene going on, the W is the place to be. Modern rooms, cool bars and a trendy feel, the W is in the Soma area about 5 minutes walk from Union Square. W hotel

There aren't really any hotels within walking distance of the wedding location as it's in a more residential area of the city.

The hotels we are recommending are about 8 miles away and are in a much more interesting/centrally located part of the city near restaurants, coffee shops, touristy areas, and public transit.

You will be able to travel to the wedding location by cab (about $20) or by tram ride ($1.50 per person) on the day of the wedding.

We will most likely have some sort of shuttle that will take you, if not back to your hotel itself, then at least much closer at the end of the night.
